If there’s one thing we know about becoming an author, it’s that the process comes with a lot of uncertainty and investment. There’s much to consider from editing to book cover design and marketing.  It’s no wonder so many writers feel overwhelmed!

We believe that all new authors need a leg up. You deserve the best chance to put your book forward. Our New Author Program is designed to provide you with our top-notch editing skills at a reduced fee. It’s our gift to you, to get you started on your journey to becoming a published, successful author.

We have a limited number of slots each month to pay it forward. We review all applications to determine if you’re a good fit for us.

Authors admitted to the New Author Program benefit from significantly reduced prices for our services.

We will do a special cross between a developmental and copyedit for $475 total, on manuscripts up to 80,000 words. That’s a savings of up to $750.

You have the option to pay the $475 in full or in three separate payments: a $150 nonrefundable deposit and two additional payments of $162.50, due within 60 days of acceptance.

In order to qualify for our New Author Program, you must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a first-time unpublished author.
• Your manuscript must be up to 80,000 words and no more than 10,000 words away from completion within the two-week period following acceptance into the program. We cannot begin editing until we have the finished product in hand.
• Must be able to pay $150 nonrefundable deposit upon acceptance. The full balance becomes due when we start working on your manuscript, or as defined in your payment plan agreement, if you choose that option.

We schedule your book for editing alongside all of our other authors as soon as we accept you into the New Author Program. Editors prioritize all work on a first in, first out basis, and typically require two to three weeks to finish working on your manuscript.

If you enroll in our payment plan, your work will not be returned until we have received payment in full.

Slots for the program are limited, as we receive a significant number of applications each month. We regret that we are unable to accept all manuscripts at this time, but strongly encourage you to apply. 

If you are a good fit for the program, someone will reach out to you within seven business days of your application. If you do not hear from us within this time frame, feel free to re-apply for the following month.
